I am writing you this from a hostel in Dublin. Not everything has gone as planned, but I am surviving and persisting.
Flight over to Heathrow was miserable (because I forced myself to sleep badly and rise badly at Dublin time), but not moreso than expected. Watched Sherlock Holmes (Surprisingly actiony), and Ninja Assassin (unsurprisingly actiony). Heathrow airport was alright, though I did manage to get terminals confused. I had three hours, though, so I figured everything out with plenty of time to spare. No internet at Heathrow, which was disappointing.
Flight to Dublin was short and fine. I read the book I Will Have to Break Your Other Leg, which is quite good - pick it up from the library if you enjoy medical misadventures and anecdotes.
Upon arrival at Dublin, I couldn't remember Edelweiss's precise instruction, but knew she meant to meet me at the bus station. Cue me patrolling around with my luggage, all through the airport bus station. I eventually bought 15 minutes of internet, and found that I was supposed to meet her at the main Dublin station. Took the 16A bus over to the city centre... and promptly got lost. Eventually a off-duty bus driver directed me to the main bus station, after a long string of misleading instructions.
I got to the bus station, and Edelweiss was waiting quite visibly in the middle of it. We said hello, hugged each other, and then she ran off to the bathroom (she had been waiting for me, less she miss me when I arrived). By this time it was 8pm, and a bus to Loughrea would get us there at 11pm, so our host suggested we stay the night in a hostel, and go the next day (today).
We bought beds for 12 euros each, and then went to eat dinner (Pizza, as it would be). We then tucked in, and slept on-and-off on for 8 hours or so. I woke up first from the sun, took a shower, and then we ate breakfast at the hostel, which as complimentary, but consisted of toast and cornflakes. Edelweiss is taking a shower currently, and I am using the hostel's free internet.
We plan to go buy towels and other things forgotten, and then head off to Loughrea.
Much love,
-- [Nil Athelion]
